About shyderblog

I am the radio voice of the Pawtucket Red Sox, Triple A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. This is a great job for me since I have always been a Red Sox fan. I am the first R.I. native to call PawSox action. I grew up in Newport, graduated from Rogers high school in 1979 and UMass (Amherst) in 1983. I was an All-Stater in the shotput and went on to a pretty good career at UMass. I began my broadcasting career in Syracuse N.Y. as a part of the S.U. basketball and football broadcast team. I was the voice of the Syracuse SkyChiefs, Triple A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays 1997-1999 and moved on to Chicago to host a nationally syndicated talk show on Sporting News Radio. I am in my ninth season (2012) with the PawSox. I have two awesome daughters- Eva and Carly. They both love the Sox and hate the Yankees (just like their dad). Besides sports, I will always stop to watch an episode of M*A*S*H, Seinfeld or the Sopranos.  Hope you enjoy the blog. Your comments are always welcome. Get in touch with me at sthsports@cox.net
